Rail transport
All-around Europe-wide transport: punctual, cost efficient and environmentally friendly
All of our terminals have their own rail sidings. In Berlin, Cologne and Hamburg they are of a length that allows block trains to be unloaded and reloaded several times a week. For example, we bundle loads from various cooperating paper producers cost-effectively in block trains in order to distribute them throughout Europe. After unloading the paper raw materials, we return the "re-freighted" wagons with complete loads or small lot sizes of different product groups from other contract partners. At the Berlin location, this applies to over 50% of the wagons arriving from Scandinavia. At other locations, too, not only are empty returns avoided, but highly efficient systems have been established according to a timetable.
